How you can help

If, like us, you are mad about greys and want to help the ones who need homes, here are some thoughts....

Walk a dog or two at your local rescue kennels. Great exercise, great company, great fun. What nicer way to spend an hour or so Sponsor a dog or a kennel at your local homing kennels. It's a great way of making a personal link with one of the dogs, it helps the kennel raise much needed funds and it's addictive (I guarantee you'll soon be checking back to the kennel's site every day to see whether "your" dog has been picked) Print off the kennel's details from the website and ask if you can post copies at your vets, your office notice board, the corner shop, pet shops etc Help your sponsor dog get a home - put links to the kennel's site on other dog websites, join the greyhound rescue forums and post links to the dogs etc Sign the kennel's website guestbook with feedback on the dogs you've got to know a bit through walking - it's always useful for potential adopters to have feedback from a wide range of people Don't throw out, donate it to your local kennels: old towels, duvets, blankets; Sudacreme, antiseptic creams, wipes, cotton wool buds etc; and when you clear the fridge and food cupboards, tinned sardines or tuna, etc; dog treats, pig's ears etc. Everything you donate means they don't have to buy, means more money for essentials... And finally, you could always adopt a greyhound.  Remember every time a greyhound is rehomed, you create a place in the safety of the rehoming kennels for another dog - so by adopting one you are saving two.
