UPDATE: Poor Malfie he has had two failed homings because of issues round cats. He's been pushed from pillar to post and is geting fed up and starting to get feisty round other greys too.... He desperately needs to get back into a home where he can calm down and begin to put down his roots. He is a lovely boy with great potential in the right hands. Are you the ones to rescue him?
The team at Wimbledon Greyhond Welfare say:
Malfie is a happy, sociable boy. He loves lots of attention and reckons walks are the ‘bee’s knees.’ He has been in a home, and behaved very well. He has been well socialised with other breeds of dog, and in fact he hid behind us when we introduced him to the spaniel. He can be excitable, but this is enthusiasm and should not be misread. For this reason we would like Malfie to go to an experienced ‘doggy’ home, with lots going on, and with older children.
We say:
Malfie stayed with us for a long weekend, joining us for trips to the beach, the Greyhound Gap off lead socialisation session and lots, lots more. We really cannot fault this boy. He is so affectionate, always up for cuddles, a great leaner with beautiful soulful eyes to drown in.... He is spotlessly clean in the house; travels beautifully in the car; manages domestic appliances, slippy floors, stairs etc without batting an eyelid (though he should slow down a bit on the stairs!). Eats well - he's neither fussy nor greedy (though he is a bit partial to cake). Calm and unphased by crowds. Gentle and not at all in you face with our greyhound girl Jazz, excellent round little dogs though a bit unpredictable when he gets spooked by big ones. If this makes him sound a bit staid, forget it, because he is soooo not ... He is playful, lively, interested in everything and always up for a laugh. What's the catch? I struggle to find one really. He's definitely not cat-friendly but then, no-one's perfect.
